  1. All of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and quitting dipping cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Welcome to Quitting Dip. It's pretty simple, we quit dipping, counting one day at a time. We make a promise to quit chewing tobacco to ourselves and our fellow quitters first thing each day, and we keep our word. Above all, we are honest here and men of our word. Trust is paramount. We call this first few days of quitting dip, and the withdrawl symptoms of cold turkey “the suck”, because, well, it sucks. Things are probably going to suck for a little while, but you don't need to worry about that. You just need to worry about today. That said, in deciding to quit dipping, you've made the best decision of your life. Prepare by planning on drinking plenty of water to flush out the nicotine, and consider exercising to power through the worst parts. Find something to do with your mouth… many have found success with gum, sunflower seeds, hard candy and even fake chew (contains no nicotine). We are 100% nicotine free and don't practice nicotine replacement therapy. It doesn't work. Quitting Dip does. You should find yourself on this forum a lot. Reach out to your bros here and read all the information you can. Rage here and express your frustration and don't take it out on your family. We all know what you are going through....we've all been there and we all made it through. You can too. It will get better. THE TIME TO QUIT DIPPING IS RIGHT NOW. And the only method for quitting dipping that any of us have ever found to work is quitting cold turkey, with the help of other quitters. The method that we use here. If you found Quitting Dip, you’ve been struggling with nicotine for a long time. You have probably tried to quit. Perhaps you’ve even admitted to yourself that you are addicted to chewing tobacco. No matter what strategy you have employed in the past, we both know it hasn’t worked. Otherwise, you would be quit, like the rest of us. The excuses you have used in the past won’t work here. The temporary withdrawal symptoms of quitting dipping are not going to kill you. You can actually function at work and home without your “crutch” to make you “more relaxed”. Your life will improve dramatically once you quit dipping. You might remember stopping for a few weeks, and you have an idea that it was hell 'because you had quit'. It was hell because you didn’t know how to quit until now. We’ll change your mindset, and we will lay out the timeline of quitting nicotine. The only thing that you need to do to participate in a 100% effective method of quitting dipping is to show up here every day, follow the advice of the members, and follow the only two rules we have here....Post your promise not to dip every morning, and keep your word. If you are ready to quit dipping, post up on the Plebe Scroll. Otherwise, visit the support center, or read some speeches.
  2. The question is, how are you going to handle it when you really quit dipping? Are you going to finally realize that previous stoppages you went through don't mean a damn thing, nothing! First and foremost before you quit dipping… before you post to the quit scroll... before any attempt at brotherhood or integrity, you have to reach down and find your nuts. Make yourself the promise that you have quit chewing tobacco, for good. When you have quit dipping, you will despise this addiction with every fiber in your body. You have to learn to hate it man. You have to despise this addiction more than anything you've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Get mean with it. If you've ever made it more than a day with your previous stoppages, you know that it sucks. Grab your balls, man up and fight like your life depends on it for the next 72 hours or so because it does! Do not allow this shit to control you anymore, no more disgusting shit smelling breath, brown stains around your lips or spit bottles that look like liquid shit sitting around. Get yourself some fake if you have to, sugar free candy, seeds, gum whatever it takes to keep the dip out of your lip. Stay close to the site and read. THE TIME TO QUIT DIPPING IS RIGHT NOW. And the only method for quitting dipping that any of us have ever found to work is quitting cold turkey, with the help of other people that have already quit dipping, Quitters. 3. Are you here because you are having a health scare? Do you have a little boo boo in your mouth that you think is cancer? Well, it’s probably not. Does that mean it’s not time to quit dipping? Does your throat hurt real bad? Think you’re going to have to use one of those vibrator things for the rest of your life? Fuck your pain in the throat, pussy. It means nothing. It’s probably not related to your chewing. Does that make you want to chew again? If so, pack your bags, bitch. We didn’t quit dipping because of a sore throat, we didn’t quit dipping because our doctor said to, and we didn’t quit dipping because our wife said we had to. We quit because we wanted to be free of addiction. Because we couldn't bear to live under the yoke of slavery to nicotine. Because we wanted to be in control of our lives. Because we wanted to live. The first thing you need to understand is what QUIT is. It isn’t sitting around lamenting about the fact you used to chew, lusting for it like some chick you banged for a while, and it's not about being nervous you might run into a tough situation like a long drive, or dipping when you are sad or stressed out. It's knowing that nicotine never helped you, and did nothing for you. That you don't give a fuck about anything else except the fact that you are in control of yourself. That you have no desire to chew. Right now you might be having physical withdrawal, your body might start doing whatever it can to make you feel like you need it. That’s different than wanting to chew. I've got good news, if you "don't want to chew again" you never will again. Because unlike what that statement makes it sound like, no one accidentally has a dip, and there is definitely no chance someone sticks a gun to your head and forces you to dip. Talking like a passive observer who is hoping for the best is not going to work. Talk like you have a pair, and also give a shit about the outcome. If you're here to "try" and "hope," don't bother. Start speaking all quit and only quit right now, because it is the only way to make it. Your actions will follow your words, actions become habits, and habits become character, Whether you want to believe it or not, (because it makes you accountable), you are responsible for all of your actions. You are the master of your fate. I WILL NOT EVER CHEW TOBACCO AGAIN. That's a fucking promise. I make it every day, and that promise is rock solid. If I commit to making it every day, this shit isn't even difficult. Go ahead, think about it. If you make that promise every morning, you only have two options. Quit dipping, or break your word. If breaking your word is an option, this place is not for you. Will you make a promise to quit every day? Will you keep your word? Will you commit to doing those simple steps every day in order to save your life and be free? If yes, this shouldn't be hard. Fuck one day at a time. Take the pressure away. Commit. Every day. There is no excuse, there is no reason, there is no anything that will lead to a place where nicotine is anything other than poison. It's time to Quit Dipping. You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't know that. People don't casually browse the internet for cures to an addiction that you don't have. You know you are addicted, whether you admit or not. You're not sure? Have you ever tried to quit before, and failed? How many times? No matter what strategy you have employed in the past, we all know it hasn’t worked. This place will. The excuses you have used in the past won’t work here. The temporary withdrawal symptoms of quitting dipping are not going to kill you. We know, because we all survived them. They're actually not that hard to manage if you have the correct mindset. No, you're not more addicted than we were. No, we don't care what brand you used to chew. Yes, you can actually function at work and home without your “crutch” to make you “more relaxed”. The only thing that you need to do to succeed in a 100% effective method of quitting dipping is to show up here every day, listen to the advice of the members, and follow the only two rules we have here.... Post your promise not to dip every morning, and keep your word. If you are ready to quit, go to today's Quit Scroll and post your name and Day 1. Look for messages on the scroll or in your inbox from other dudes who have done this already. Or start an intro, and you can have a centralized place for people to welcome you, offer some advice, or kick your ass when you need it. If you think you are not ready to quit, what are you waiting for?
  4. Welcome to the Quitting Dip. We've all been through the chewing tobacco withdrawal symptoms and can say with absolute certainty that those negative side effects of quitting dip will pass soon. When your brain gets used to operating without nicotine, the clarity will feel amazing, and sleeping and shitting will return to you once again. I'm sitting here and don't have one inkling of a wish to ever return to using that ground up poison and will continue to come here and post my promise to these powerful allies that I will continue to preserve my freedom from nicotine until the day I take my last breath. You'll find that the money you save and decreased risk of cancer will be ancillary benefits that barely even register in the grand scheme of quitting dipping. They just don't matter that much compared to the real prize - freedom from your addiction. I know that dip has been really fucking expensive, but that never really mattered to us, did it? We always found some other area of our life to short, in order to get that can every day, no matter what. And cancer warnings were always printed on the can. Hasn’t ever stopped one of us. Maybe you actually think that cancer is your motivation now. Or money. Okay. Whatever gets you started on the path, great. But success only comes to those of us who appreciate what quitting means for our lives. It changed everything for me. Life can be a bitch, especially if you are looking for excuses to feel like shit, and feel like you're missing out on stuff... because life is so easy for everyone else, because they aren't dealing with special problems like you. You’re not special. Nicotine didn't help deal with life. Nicotine took away the withdrawal from itself that sets your mind ablaze and causes panic. It wasn't magical, it was chemical. Fuck that shit. 5. Although we tell new dudes to just focus on a single day of quitting, so as to not get overwhelmed, quitting dipping means that you are never going to do it again... So you’ve never quit dipping before, everything else was a stoppage. If you are ready to quit dip, you don't need to worry about saying "maybe" this time will be different. It’s already different because you are here. Previous stoppages probably involved “white knuckling”... spending all day wishing you were chewing tobacco again. Guys that have quit dipping don't have that problem. Relax and get ready to feel much better this time, if you are ready to do things our way. It involves changing your mindset, changing the way you think about dip, changing the way you talk about dip. It’s not something that you don’t GET to do anymore, it’s something you don’t HAVE to do anymore. Because although you don’t understand this yet, dipping has not been a privilege or a reward, it has been a requirement... mandated by your addiction. Time to tell addiction to fuck off. Fuck nicotine. This tough crowd has seen a lot of guys fail because they weren't committed and felt sorry for themselves. We all used to be slaves to the can. Its a son of a bitch who controlled our lives, fucked with our relationships, had people questions our morals, etc. All for a fucking weed that gives us cancer! For us, there was no choice, we had to quit. So there is no reason for us to worry about people who are a "maybe”. Quit dipping or die. Post your promise not to dip today. Keep that promise, and we promise to not dip with you, and will support you in any way you need. 6. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. This method of quitting dip, cold turkey -balls on the table, is the only approach you need to quit dipping, and ultimately the only one that works. None of us are special here. We all signed up looking for a solution to nicotine addiction, and we all found it. Couple things, stop "hoping" that this place can help you kick it, and get on board. There is no hope about it. You can do it if you follow a simple program. Put your name on the Plebe Quit Scroll, and say “Day 1”. That is a promise not to use today. Keep your word. Come back tomorrow. For the space in between, read the site, talk to some bros, answer some questions, get some advice, eat some seeds, go for a jog, and get some sleep. Don't be a victim. All of the discomfort you feel while in nicotine withdrawal is your brain screaming for a substance that you are addicted to. Isn't that a scary thought? The minute you take out your last dip, you're on the way to getting the poison to be out of your system and you feeling more normal. What I mean by don't be a victim- don't just wallow in the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, feeling sorry for yourself… instead, kick ass. Go lift some weights. Tell someone here they are a fucking cocksucker. Start with the first guy to respond to your intro. Run around the block. Do some jumping jacks. DRINK WATER! Drink water until your teeth are floating. The more water you drink, the faster this poison gets flushed out of your system. The more you sweat, the more water you will crave. This fucking poison has been doing havoc on your body over the course of your addiction. Now's the time to free yourself, but not without putting in some work! As you begin to put some days between you and nicotine, start to re-wire your thinking towards tobacco. Once the initial rush of stopping starts to wear off, you don't want to start romancing tobacco. Think of it for what is really is.... a plant that' was stealing your money, health, and the time that you could be spending with loved ones, and finally- stealing the time you have remaining on this earth. It's not your buddy and it's never made a damn thing better or easier. 7. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. I stumbled across this site while looking for different resources to help with quitting dip, and am sure happy that I did. I had been dipping for around twelve years, and finally decided that it is time to quit. I have made other attempts in the past, but hadn’t taken them as seriously. The formula is simple; we post a promise not to use nicotine every day, and then we follow through. There are no good reasons for you to go back to putting that shit in your lip. If you have a job or activity where lots of dudes are dipping, I would recommend the fake dip. I was around that shit every day. Fake really helps. It will scratch the oral itch, and also take care of the boredom aspect. All that leaves is the withdrawal. Sorry, no fix for that except a ball sack. There is about 5 days of withdrawal. Take it one day at a time and you'll be out of the woods before you know it. If you have the testicular fortitude to power through, you'll be on the way to freedom. There are also lots of ways to lessen the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. Throw up an intro post, and ask for help. Better yet, put “Day 1” on the Plebe Scroll, and enjoy the rest of your life. If you're having a day where you're obsessing about wanting a dip, you need to remember why we put our name on the scroll every day. It's a promise not to use, so there is no option to have that dip. Why obsess over something you can't have? Banish the thought, it's useless. As you do this longer, you will transition from really needing that scroll post to keep from using to where you just use it as a reminder of where you have been and why you care. But for now just keep one foot in front of the other. The withdrawal stage is the toughest, but also the shortest. To quit dipping you need to commit. Even if you don't feel quit, talk the talk. It's both incredibly easy and incredibly powerful. Once you stop talking like a passive observer/victim/pussy, you'll stop feeling like one. Talk about how bad ass it is that you have quit. How awesome it feels to go cold turkey on one of the most addictive substances on the planet. How great it is you're not going to get cancer and miss your kid's high school games. Here's the other thing... until you start acting like you actually want to be here instead of someone who is just trying it out, you're really not worth spending a lot of time on. Transient stoppages are a total waste of our time. We can't get you to give a fuck... that's internal. If you don't give a fuck, get the fuck out of here, we don't care if you don't. It's time to Quit Dipping. You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't know that. People don't casually browse the internet for cures to an addiction that you don't have. You know you are addicted, whether you admit or not. You're not sure? Have you ever tried to quit before, and failed? How many times? Have you ever tried nicotine replacement therapies, but found that you are still craving, irritable, and miserable? Ever pulled your patch off so you can have a real one, "when you really needed it"? Ever had a girlfriend or wife lay down the law, "it's me or the dip"? And, of course you chose her. But not really, so you had to take your dipping underground for a while? Ever thrown a tin out of a window, only to find yourself looking through the bushes later? Digging through dumpsters? I could go on and on. Yeah, you're in the right place. No matter what strategy you have employed in the past, we both know it hasn’t worked. This place will. The excuses you have used in the past won’t work here. The temporary withdrawal symptoms of quitting dipping are not going to kill you. We know, because we all survived them. No, you're not more addicted than we were. No, we don't care what brand you used to chew. Yes, you can actually function at work and home without your “crutch” to make you “more relaxed”. 8. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. I was walking with my wife through the Target parking lot the other day while we were buying shit for the house, and I got pretty pissed stepping over a dip pouch someone tossed on the ground. Spontaneously, I told my wife how thankful I was to be going on four years since I quit dipping and not going on four additional years of lying and giving in to the addiction at every opportunity. This isn’t something we talk about often, or ever really, as it had been a sore spot in the past. “It” being my lying and “ninja dipping” for years. I also discussed feeling embarrassed for needing to get reminders to post scroll twice this year. I think me admitting that to her made her “get it” even more. That I care about quitting dip because it affects my real life. How no matter the excuse for posting late, that excuse would not have kept me from ensuring I had enough cans for the day. It’s the nature of nicotine addiction. There was no “forgetting” to dip because of my responsibilities. There was no popping in the first dip of the day at 1:00 PM because of aberrations in my daily routine. If I was traveling somewhere where it was difficult to buy dip (like a cruise), I would have researched a contingency plan to ensure there was a way to use and avoid any gaps in addiction-feeding. Would I go through the same lengths to ensure I post my daily promise while camping in a rural area? Yes. Yes, I would and I will. I am not going to allow myself to excuse or rationalize behavior that demeans and shits on Quit. Do you think you would have ever experienced complacency in your addiction? It’s pretty simple here ... Get on the scroll today to say that you have quit dipping. That's the first step… post your promise at the beginning of your day, keep shit out of your lip. Repeat. If you have any integrity, you’ll honor that promise. Soon you’ll be quit, permanently. You gotta own it this time. ZERO tolerance for all things nicotine here ... Addicts can’t have one. One is too many. Quit dipping like you mean it. I would suggest you read as much as you can on the site. Come here with questions, to rant, share, support and be supported. Discovering that you are addicted, and have to quit dipping, is actually one of the hardest parts. The only thing that you need to do to succeed in a 100% effective method of quitting dipping is to show up here every day, listen to the advice of the members, and follow the only two rules we have here.... Post your promise not to dip every morning, and keep your word.
  9. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. If you quit dipping, you may or may not have dodged the cancer bullet. We all danced with that shit, playing Russian Roulette with our lives. You can’t change history, but you can change the future. One day early in my quit, I was sitting in the sauna after my workout and a guy comes in and packs a lip of Cope snuff, the same shit I used to use, and offered one to me. I told him I quit dipping, and he pulled up a picture on his phone of him with cancer on his lip that was taken out a month ago. He showed me where the 100 stitches were. He had gone back to dipping 10 days later. The dude's been dipping for 30+ years, and now he has to shave the inside of his lip because when the surgeon reconstructed his lip, he grafted in a piece of skin that grows hair. He congratulated me on my quit. Before I quit dipping, I was one of those guys who would pick up a can of dip at the gas station when stressful stuff was going on in my life, and hide it around my house. And life kept getting more and more stressful, and I found more and more reasons to buy one. You and I are addicts. That means we understand one another. You are nothing but a sneaky ass deceptive nicotine addict man. Hide the can, find the can, sneak sneak sneak. You are not unique or special. The difference between you and I is that I am armed with the knowledge about how to quit dipping, and you are still in the grips of your addiction. You are in the right place, and this is the time that you will succeed. This is not a habit; it is an addiction. Chewing your nails is a habit. The words we use to describe our addiction reflect where our heads are at. You are a nicotine addict, addicted to a substance that causes cancer. Your addict mind tells you that you love dip. It will tell you all kinds of lies to keep getting a fix. You don't love dip. We each have to go through that rewiring of the brain to quit dipping. Your brain is not trustworthy yet, so you've made an excellent decision finding a place where those with experience can help you figure it out. Ask yourself if you've got what it takes to quit dipping. Too many guys are rolling through here and apparently not getting the message that nicotine will own your ass and has no problem with killing you. To find a method of quit that works then toss it away and go back is an unforgivable act. We want you to succeed, do you want to? The first couple days are rough, but it does get better. Perhaps the tourists who get a taste of freedom and then go back to slavery were here for the wrong reasons. Get selfish and quit for yourself. You need to quit for you, not for anyone else. I started out being quit to help things with my wife, but then I asked myself… if something happened to my wife, what then? I am quit for me and stay quit for me, and my quit brothers are the same way. 10. All of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and quitting dipping cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Before I committed to quitting dip, I wasn't planning on really participating on this forum. I just was trying to read the boards so I could figure out what the fuck is wrong with my brain. I was just tired. Tired of making every excuse in the book. Tired of being drunk and walking to a 7-11 just to find they don't have my brand. Has an uber driver ever told you that YOU are the loser? Cause mine did after the third 7-11 we had checked cause Copenhagen mint was hard to find. Like that Uber driver has their shit together....I think not. One star you fucking hypocrite. Anyway I digress. What I'm really trying to get at is I'm here to quit dipping and to quit dipping forever. An hour per dip was par for me, which means, I dipped nearly every minute of the day sans eating, sleeping, and showering. Before I quit chewing tobacco I was “lucky” enough to be able to dip at work, cause I mainly worked from home. I go into an office for like 4 hours a day. Taking a break half way for a 20 min dip and also needing one to take dump. As soon as I got in my car to go home until bed, constantly. If you're wondering how to stay single, that's your answer. Once you quit dipping, each day free from that fucking poison is better than the previous. Triggers come early in a quit, but each time you internally say "fuck you" you're winning, The premise here is simple, but genius at the same time. Wake up, piss, post your promise not to use. Make it 24 hours, keep that cat shit out of your lip, repeat. Anyone with a set of marbles can make it 24 hours. Soon days start stacking into months, months into years ... you'll be quit. Just own your shit. By that I mean embrace what this site has to offer, and be a man of integrity and honor your word ... follow through. You're surrounded here by addicts to nicotine, and we've all got stories just like you. One major difference right now is that across the board, all of us despise that fucking plant ... what it does to your health, your wallet, your connections with family and friends. Slowly killing you, all the while you get to pay for it. Heaven is the freedom you can expect when quit dipping. You have no idea .. but you will. Flip that switch. Fuck nicotine. The only thing that you need to do to succeed in a 100% effective method of quitting dipping is to show up here every day, listen to the advice of the members, and follow the only two rules we have here.... Post your promise not to dip every morning, and keep your word.
  11. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. “Quit” is an attitude change that won't take long to manifest itself - after you quit dipping and prove to yourself that you’ve got the balls to make it through the discomfort of some withdrawals without running back to the “one pinch at a time” cancer addiction. This is the time and the place that you will succeed and quit dipping. We support you but we cant do it for you. I never intend to go through what you are going through again and I won't. You won't have to either. Man I'm going through some shit at work so... Going through a divorce so... Going through a custody battle because I want to move so... Finally get to move and I'm going through the stress of buying and selling a house so... So fuck nicotine! And fuck anyone who thinks that their life circumstances are an excuse for dip or any other addiction. Handle your shit and stop being a pussy. Life happens and it ain't so bad (even the low points) when you're not busy feeling sorry for yourself and blaming everyone and everything else for your problems. 13. Welcome...... But that welcome comes with a condition - When you’re ready to quit dipping, post your day 1 on the Plebe scroll… dump your can… go to the fridge and dump the remainder of your roll… go out to your garage/car/desk at work and dump your emergency cans.....get rid of it all. Because when you post your day 1, there is no going back, and if you follow the advice here, you won’t want to dip anymore. Hell, you don’t WANT to dip anymore already, or you wouldn’t be here. You think you can’t live without dip, but we’re all here to tell you that not only is quitting dip possible, quitting dipping is the greatest thing you’ll ever do for yourself. After you post your day 1 today - hang on until tomorrow morning and then you will post your day 2 .... then you’re on you’re way to being a quitter ... you will come here every morning and post scroll - you do that not out of a requirement for this site, but as a promise to yourself that you will not put that shit in your mouth for that day....fight through that day and repeat the next.... you will continue to do that until you gain the upper hand on your addiction. What we offer here is brotherhood and accountability - if that is what you’re looking for - you have come to the right place..... You might think that you don’t have the will power, but if it were all about will power, none of us would have needed this site to quit dipping. However, if your unable to make a commitment, if you can not keep a promise, if you possess thin skin - then this is not the place for you…So, decide… do you want to quit dipping? Do you want to be free, or be a slave? Post your name and day 1 on the Plebe scroll .... once you do that you'll have the full power of this site working for you. THE ONLY WAY TO QUIT DIPPING IS TO QUIT DIPPING COLD TURKEY. You might think that there are lots of ways to quit dipping, but there's not. You are likely to be here after hundreds of aborted mini-attempts at quitting dipping. You can't quit dipping halfway. You also can't use nicotine replacement products. No vaping. No nicotine lozenges. No nicotine gum. Why not? Because you can't quit nicotine by using a different form of nicotine. Why do you want to extend the length of time that you experience the withdrawal symptoms of quitting dipping anyway? Get it over with. Rip the band aid off. Put that shit in the rear view mirror. When you are in the cycle of being desperate to quit dipping, but terrified of actually quitting, everything can seem overwhelming. Quitting dip is a lot easier than you think. It is all a mind game, and we know all the ways to win. If you are ready to quit, the best way to quit dipping cold turkey is to join this site, and start posting. Once you are a member you can start an introduction where you can tell the other members about yourself, or just get right to it and put your screen name and "Day 1" on the "Quit Scroll" with today's date. Just throw up a post somewhere, someone is going to see it, and help you learn how to quit dipping. You can also post below with questions or comments before you sign up. If you just about ready to pull the trigger but you're scared, stop being a pussy. There is a section in the support center full of posts encouraging guys like you to get in the game. We want to give you help to quit dipping, but you have to help yourself first.
  14. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. My addiction story is not unique. I was ninja dipper. I dipped pretty much anytime I was alone - driving, hunting, fishing, working, etc. I would make excuses to get away from my family so I could dip. I was a dipshit. I never thought I was addicted because I would rationalize that "I don't dip that much" and "I can quit whenever I want" and "most people don't even know that I dip so I am obviously not addicted". Then I tried to quit and couldn't. I struggled for a long time with various stoppages. Then I found the people here and learned how to quit. For me it was never about the physical withdrawals, my battles to quit would be on the mental side. The first months were hell and I will never forget. But, every day further away from day 1 gets better and better. Since you’re here, you have realized that treating an addiction to dip like a bad habit doesn't work. To quit dipping you have to treat this addiction like an addiction. You know you have to quit chewing tobacco, but you don't know yet that you can live every day without it. That is what it means to truly quit dipping. In time we'll teach you everything you need to know to be able to 100% say that you will never again use nicotine in any form...ever. Today, let's focus on posting a day 1 on scroll, and then through the couple of hours. THE TIME TO QUIT DIPPING IS RIGHT NOW. And the only method for quitting dipping that any of us have ever found to work is quitting dip cold turkey, with the help of other people. That's the method that we use here. 15. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Brotherhood and accountability has freed me from nearly a quarter century of slavery to nicotine before I found help with Quitting Dip. Time slipped by me like a fart in the wind. I pissed away my prime years so I could sneak away to shovel dog crap into my mouth and my face. I missed out on girls, friends, education, love, careers, travel, and opportunities of a lifetime so that I could sit in my car or on a fucking toilet to needlessly suckle tobacco, before I quit dipping. Lesson learned. No more. I quit chewing thanks to my brothers in quit. I will always be thankful and always respectful of the key things that led me to my quitting dipping. Posting to the scroll, asking for support to help quit dipping, supporting others in their quest to quit chewing tobacco, and forging brotherhood. Thank you my brothers. Please count on me being here with you. Together, and every damn day, we will continue to fight to keep our freedom from nicotine. Failure is not an option. Quit Dip. THE TIME TO QUIT DIPPING IS RIGHT NOW. And the only method for quitting dipping that any of us have ever found to work is quitting cold turkey, with the help of other quitters. 16. If you have yet to quit dipping you might be thinking, “I just need to make it through this work week, and I’ll quit chew on the weekend”. But inevitably, this weekend, you'll be thinking that quitting dip away from work will ruin your weekend. “Who wants to deal with withdrawal symptoms while I’m off?” There is always an excuse to keep using, and they’re all stupid. “I have a stressful family thing next week, gotta be chewing then. There’s a golf outing with my boys next month, no reason to quit before then. I’ll quit as soon as I get through this phase where my kids are in diapers.” These are the excuses given by people who are addicted to nicotine, and everyone here knows that because we all used to use them. It was hiding the fact that we were scared to quit, and rationalizing the continued use of a drug that was killing us. Not only are all the excuses dumb, because dip doesn’t help you do anything, it is not a magic potion to allow you to survive stress, it is often a source of stress, and does nothing to help you deal with life. The inevitable withdrawal symptoms from quitting dip will always be the same, regardless of whether it’s that time of the month, bitch. They’re bad for a few days, but not that bad. They are manageable. Unlike what you've convinced yourself, tomorrow is not the best day to start quitting. Today is. 17. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Can't tell y’all how pissed I am that I allowed nicotine to control my life for so long before I quit dipping. My mental and athletic performance suffered, my job performance suffered. Everything suffered, it was a mess. When I had my first child, before I quit chewing tobacco, the addiction detracted from my time with her. Instead of enjoying the moment, I'd look forward to her nap so that I could pop a dip in. Quitting dipping has made me a stronger, smarter, more resilient person. Now that I have proven to myself that I can quit dipping, I can confidently act to improve other areas of my life. I want to make better choices in everything I do moving forward. If it's not helping me with my goals, I shouldn't be doing it. If its a negative person or behavior, I shouldn't be associating with it. Quitting chewing tobacco would not be possible without support and brotherhood. Posting scroll was the cornerstone of my cold turkey nicotine quit, but the interaction with positive, like minded people is what keeps me coming back. Wake up, piss, post scroll, and interact. That's a solid formula to win right there. I only have so much time in this life, I'm proud of my decision to do it nicotine free. THE TIME TO QUIT DIPPING IS RIGHT NOW. And the only method for quitting dipping that any of us have ever found to work is quitting dip cold turkey, with the help of other people. That's the method that we use here. 18. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. One of the biggest reasons my quit came to be was me asking myself the question, “why are you doing this?”. It’s a question I was unable to answer, and at the same time I found it much easier to answer the question “why wouldn’t you do this?”. The reasons for not dipping pile up easily. I’ll start off as a salesman for quitting dip: Do you enjoy not having cancer? Do you like falling asleep easily and waking up rested? Do you like having extra pocket money? Do you like not having to hide spit cans and brown teeth from your loved ones? I could go on, but you get the point. Likely, you’ve reasoned all of these in your mind before. You know that logically you shouldn’t continue this practice, yet, for some reason, you continue. Why? Why keep dipping if you know there is literally no good reason to continue? The answer is simple: you aren’t taking control of the decision. You’ve allowed the reasonable part of you to take a back seat while the dumbass part of you drives the car. It’s time to take back the wheel. One of the most liberating moments I had was the moment when I decided to quit. I took a full can of dip, I dumped it in the toilet, and watched it all go down the drain. I would highly recommend this. You will be surprised at how hard it is to dump that can, but once you do a feeling of power and control will wash over you. After that, take it one day at a time. Don’t think about being quit 4 years from now, think about making it to next week. Once you’re at next week, think about making it to the next month. Before you know it, you won’t even be thinking about dip. Use this website as a tool to aid your quit. Post scroll in the Plebe Quit Scroll every morning. Get involved. Writing posts about how strong your quit is will strengthen your quit and resolve to keep your daily promise. You can do it, you can get rid of the addiction. Dump that can in the toilet, post scroll, and start the next chapter of your clean and free life. 19. The point of this blog is to find the individual that has been mired in the quagmire of nicotine addiction, and doesn't think there is a way out. There is no real urgency to quit dipping.... except for the fact that every rational part of your brain has been screaming to quit. And the addiction keeps winning. We all know that "just one more" plug of chewing tobacco is not going to give you cancer.... finishing that can you bought in the morning is not going to make a difference... except that we all know that eventually tobacco use causes cancer. You conveniently don't think about it often. But it's the only thing you think about when you have a sore on your lip from dipping, or notice that your gums are looking especially gray this morning. A member here recently stated, "when I found this place, I was at my wits end. I was willing to do anything to quit". But it takes a long time for a real addict to realize how important quitting is. Some longer than others. Some members here dipped for 30+ years. Some members aren't even 30 years old. The guys who belong here are those who really want to quit, and have come to realize that all other methods for quitting dip are useless... No vaping. 20. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. We are here to help you quit dipping and nothing less. This is not your standard half assed group of people that briefly stop chewing tobacco, but then start bailing out at day 10 because they are cured, or decide that they really wanted to dip the whole time, rather than be free of addiction. We have seen a lot of bad reasons for being here and a lot bad excuses to start again. Only the idea that you are here to save yourself, and an attitude that you hate what nicotine has done to you, will lead to success. So what's it gonna be? 21. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Before quitting dip, I dipped for 20+ years and by the end was completely controlled by nicotine, desperately looking for a way to quit dipping. I stumbled upon this place called Quitting Dip and found that making a promise 1st thing every day -a promise that I wasn't going to dip-... was, and still is, the only way I would be able to quit chewing tobacco. Take the option off the table every day with your word. Keep your word, and repeat. Think you can’t get through the routines of life if you quit dipping? Yeah, we all used to dip after every meal. I used to dip every time I shit too. I convinced myself I couldn't shit without it. Having a meal or needing to shit without a can in my pocket would induce panic. Guess what? Now that I have quit dipping, I can still eat and take a dump. I haven't chewed after a meal in years, and I have shit at least once a day every day for years, without dip. Today I enjoy my meals much more; now that I am not racing through my meals to get to my dip, and I can shit much more easily now that I am not shitting three or four times a day because of the laxative I was putting in my lip all day. Or maybe it wasn’t a laxative at all. Maybe I was just forcing myself to shit that often because it gave me an excuse to sit on the toilet and dip in private. Life is much better when you are not a slave. Let go of all of that old shit and embrace the system here…Post your number, learn how to speak and live Quit, build a hatred for that controlling poison. You will honestly have to “learn” how to do some things without dip, and you’ll be very worried that they’re not possible without dip. Even an active addict like yourself has to realize that that notion is simultaneously absurd, and terrifying. Absurd because…. Of course you can take a shit without nicotine. Terrifying because… until you actually quit dipping, you will be convinced that you can’t do certain activities without it… that’s the level of control that nicotine has over you right now. You have realized that treating an addiction to dip like it's just a bad habit doesn't work. To quit dipping you have to treat the addiction like an addiction. You know you have to quit, but you don't yet know that you can live every day without it. That is what it means to truly quit dipping. In time we'll teach you everything you need to know to be able to say with 100% certainty that you will never again use nicotine in any form...ever again. Today, brand new dudes should focus on posting a day 1 on scroll, and then kicking ass for the rest of the day, then repeat.
  22. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. I have lived the majority of my personal life with the motto- “Fuck It”. I have given up on too many diets, exercise programs, organizational goals, etc. in my life to count because I have always ended up saying "fuck it" and giving up. When I decided to quit dipping, I was finally fed up with the ever-present sack of shit weighing down my life- my nicotine addiction. I found Quitting Dip and posted scroll the next morning. I had no expectations at that point, and if I am honest with myself, I assumed that the "fuck it" would win over eventually. But the next morning, I woke up and posted again. And then I did it again the next morning. A week later I was standing in line at the gas station and looking at the dip display. I could physically feel the "fuck it" creeping up my spine. But things were different this time. I had made a promise that morning. A promise to myself that I was going to be quit. And I have kept that promise every day. The benefits of quitting dip have permeated the rest of my life. I am more organized, I am eating better, I am exercising. Once I realized I could stop being a slave to the most addictive and destructive part of my life, the other areas were easy to overcome. I am tempted to say that I have conquered the "fuck it" once and for all. But I know that's not the case. I know it is still there. It is waiting for me to become complacent. It is waiting for me to get lazy. But, I am a different person than I was before I quit dipping. I am determined. I am firm in my resolve that while the rest of my life may fall victim to the "fuck it", my quit will not. I will wake up tomorrow and make a promise to myself and to the good people of QD that I will be quit that day and every day after it. I look forward to many more scroll posts and I truly appreciate the help and support from every one of you. Because of you and the promise I make every morning, "fuck it" has forever been replaced with "fuck nicotine."“Quit” is an attitude change that won't take long to manifest itself - after you quit dipping and prove to yourself that you’ve got the balls to make it through the discomfort of some withdrawals without running back to the “one pinch at a time” cancer addiction. THE ONLY WAY TO QUIT DIPPING IS TO QUIT DIPPING COLD TURKEY. You might think that there are lots of ways to quit dipping, but there's not. 23. Why have you failed at all previous attempts to quit dipping? I know why I failed every previous attempt. I failed to quit chewing tobacco because I wasn't here. I didn’t get any help to quit dipping, and relied solely on myself. And myself was always a fucking bitch. The first thing you deal with when quitting chewing tobacco is the real physical withdrawal side, and since most people have at least halfway attempted to quit dipping in the past, you should know the routine... Withdrawal symptoms from quitting dip can include insomnia, sweating, headaches, constipation, irritability, and anxiety. How do you combat the symptoms of quitting dip? First, know that they will pass. This only lasts few days. To alleviate them, go sweat somewhere, whether its running, hitting the gym, or just walking around the block. Don’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself. Do something. But first, put your name on the quit scroll and you have accomplished the most important part of how to quit dipping, making a promise to other people and yourself. A promise to quit dipping to people that don’t accept failure and weakness. Remember this- work fucking sucks no matter what, [or they wouldn’t have to pay you], but today it is more productive than usual, because someone is paying you to go through withdrawal from dip. That's win win. Tough it out, take a walk around the block, drink lots of water. Bitch and moan here if you are feeling sorry for yourself. That's one of the fringe benefits of a quitting dip support group. We know what you’re going through, and we’ll tell you if it is normal, when you need to do something differently, or to just stop being a pussy. One of two things is inevitable for a nicotine addict, premature death or quitting. Choose quitting. Drink a lot of water, while you're sweating and after you’re done. Use substitutes like jerky chew, fake dip, hard candy, gum, and seeds. Anything without nicotine in it. Some guys would stick coffee grounds or even grass in their lip. Sleep whenever you can. Get in here and talk shit to quitters before you freak out on your family. But the biggest thing to remember is that a lot of this is mental. The reason that you make a promise every single morning, is that it makes it so that chewing tobacco is not an option. Not if you are going to keep your word. There is no reason to have a debate with yourself about dipping today. Since it is no longer an option, there is no reason to obsess about it. Think about something else. Put that promise up every morning and it's never an option. It's time to Quit Dipping. You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't know that. People don't casually browse the internet for cures to an addiction that you don't have. You know you are addicted, whether you admit or not. You're not sure? Are you scared of the withdrawal symptoms of quitting dip? Have you ever tried to quit before, and failed? How many times? Do you know all the stages of quitting dipping, except the only one that matters, permanence? No matter what strategy you have employed in the past, we all know it hasn’t worked. This place will. The excuses you have used in the past won’t work here. The temporary withdrawal symptoms of quitting dipping are not going to kill you. We know, because we all survived them. They're actually not that hard to manage if you have the correct mindset. No, you're not more addicted than we were. No, we don't care what brand you used to chew. Yes, you can actually function at work and home without your “crutch” to make you “more relaxed”. Your life will improve dramatically once you quit dipping. You might remember stopping for a few weeks, and you have an idea that it was hell 'because you had quit'. It was hell because you didn’t know how to quit until now. Look for messages on the scroll or in your inbox from other dudes who have done this already. Or start an intro, and you can have a centralized place for people to welcome you, offer some advice, or kick your ass when you need it. If you think you are not ready to quit, what are you waiting for?

The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Last week I looked out my hotel window and saw a woman standing in the street smoking. Just standing there, one arm folded across her stomach, the other holding her cigarette. So sad. So alone. So trapped. Such a waste. Addiction is not a fucking disease. I know it's a disease in the strictest definition of the word, but it's not like Malaria or MS. You decide to put that shit in your body every time. Calling it a disease lets people off the hook. Addiction is serious, it's crippling, it's lethal, but every hit is a choice. I know how politically incorrect that statement is, but I couldn't BECOME QUIT until you dudes helped me understand that ain't nobody gonna help me but me. Addiction is a crisis of character. It's a vacuum of valor. I still remember when that light bulb went off: just stop being such a goddamn pussy and QUIT DIPPING, BITCH. QUIT HARD. That mindset has changed me. It's changed me as a man, husband, father, boss, son, brother. I own every minute of every day. I chose to be strong. I chose to be quit - and being quit means so much more than just not using nicotine. But that's my foundation, my rock every morning - wake, piss, post, commence utter domination. If I can quit dip, I can do anything. THE ONLY WAY TO QUIT DIPPING IS TO QUIT DIPPING COLD TURKEY. You might think that there are lots of ways to quit dipping, but there's not. 25. If you are looking for a support group to help quit dipping, all of the members here quit dipping using the same process, through the accountability offered by this website, and going cold turkey. The following was written recently by a member of Quitting Dip. Once I found my resolve I was all in. 29 years of being a sneaky ass addict was enough for me and I had arrived at my last option cause all the other ways failed me, by allowing me to keep putting the drug in my body. I don't know if it's possible to express the concept of “quit” to another person but here goes. This is my life. I've got people in my life that care about me and I care about my own health now. I'm not gonna let nicotine take that away. I have posted my promise every single fucking day since day 1. Why? Because it matters to me and it takes nothing to make that promise except integrity. I came from a similar site that used the same concept of a daily quit promise, but it didn't deliver in the long term for me. I jumped ship and started posting with these assholes. Being here was a big deal for me because this concept of quitting dip based on accountability pulled my head out of my ass. I made it 3 days, then 3 months, a year, two. I’m not gonna fuck with it. If it was all just as simple as not putting the stuff in our faces anymore we wouldn't need to be here. Quit is an attitude and resolve that orbits our integrity. Without those two things how can a person expect to succeed after all the past failure? THE ONLY WAY TO QUIT DIPPING IS TO QUIT DIPPING COLD TURKEY.
