newbie here: I tried the nic gum a few times over the years. I felt like I was doing myself a 'healthy' favor but really it was just me replacing where I was getting my nicotine from. It took the 'edge' off but always left me wanting more nicotine and I wouldnt even finish a box of gum before I was right back at dipping and smoking. Nicotine replacement is putting money in the same beasts pocket. I swear they work together bouncing people back and forth between gum and cigs/dip. Cold turkey is the only way to beat the shit out of this addiction and to get your head on straight and start seeing nicotine for what it is. This shit tried taking my life and my money and my freedom of choice in any form I consumed it. I love what @Vol 92 said above: As a recovering addict there is no more truth than this.
